Trucks continued to be the most greatly used mode for transporting goods to and from the US and its NAFTA partners. This is according to the Department of Transportation’s Bureau of Transportation Statistics report which was released late July. Out of $53.5 billion worth of imports, Trucking accounted for 60.2 %, $32.2 Billion. On the other hand, trucking was $30.1 billion of the $44.7 billion worth of exports, this is 67.3%. The total worth of US NAFTA freight carried by all five major transportation methods was $98.2 billion. The increase in trucking freight between the US and Canada was 5.4%.
