Community

We are committed to the contribution and the growth of our industry by giving back to the communities we impact in building partnerships and programs that will benefit our future generations.

Community partnerships

Sponsorship of Elementary Attendance Pizza Parties

SouthBay Transport believes that our future is the children which is why their education is important. Encouraging high attendance rates for students results in them doing better in school since they have more time to develop their skills. Kennedy Gardens awards the two classes with the highest attendance each month with a pizza party. As a result SouthBay Transport partnered with Kennedy Gardens Elementary to sponsor the pizza parties for September.  SouthBay's Dispatch Operations Manager Adrian Otero along with Mario Garcia delivered the pizza and supplies. In addition they spoke to the children about the importance of having perfect attendance in school. We look forward to partnering with Kennedy Gardens and the community of Calexico for more events!

Internships

For the summer of 2017 we partnered with neighborhood organizations in order to provide internships. Our purpose was to serve as mentors and guide the participating students through the right path in order to be successful for his or her career. These students were from local Long Beach communities who had an interest for a career in the logistics industry.

Thank you to International Trade Education Programs (ITEP) and Pacific Gateway for sharing this opportunity with us!
